This week in grades 2-5, we first talked about our new side board words which were: Bass Xylophone, Ensemble, and Ostinato. First we learned to sing our new song "Falling Leaves," and then we created our own ensemble using the Orff instruments. We layered three or four ostinatos, or repeating patterns, on top of each other so that, in the end, we created a class ensemble.
In K-1 this week, we continued to work on our class songs such as "John Kanakanaka." We practiced our movements to "Fur Elise" from last week, and kept a steady beat to a new piece of music. We continued to work on our story, "A Pumpkin for the Pie."
The Winter Concert is fast approaching, so it is almost time to start rehearsing!
