Last Few Weeks!

4/28/2017

In Grade 5, we are getting closer and closer to perfecting the songs for the play and it is great to see all the progress. After we practice singing our songs, we have been learning songs on the xylophones such as: "Hard Rock Blues" and "Yankee Doodle."

In Grade 4 this week, we played a rhythm game called "Rhythm Telephone." This is a great activity for practicing to write rhythms rather than just performing them on instruments. We also learned how to play "Yankee Doodle" on the xylophones.

In Grade 3 this week, we have started the blue belt! We are getting closer to the end of Recorder Karate and it is exciting to see all the progress this year.

In Grade 2, we did an activity called, "Rhythm Relay." In this activity, we got to practice performing rhythms on the drums and writing them on the board.

In Grade 1, we are continuing to practice our patriotic songs and they are sounding great! This week, we tried to do them memorized. We practiced learning "London Bridge" on the xylophones.

In Kindergarten, we played an activity called, "Bow, Wow, Wow." This is a great activity that got the kids up, moving and singing. At the end of class we practiced repeating rhythms on the xylophones.
